COVID-19 testing will be available for your child at the Penn Yan Central School. This is in accordance with the New York State School Reopening Plans. Yates County Public Health will have testing operations set up at the school on specific days and times each week. We will be able to test children and staff who have COVID-19 symptoms. We will also be conducting optional random surveillance testing on children that have no symptoms. (Please click title for full letter and consent form)

There will be a vaccine clinic at Penn Yan Elementary for children ages 5-17 this Saturday, November 20th from 9-12am. Click the title for more information or to sign your child up.

The importance of access to devices and reliable internet has been highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and this access will remain necessary in the future. To support the goal of closing the digital equity gap, the New York State Education Department put together an annual survey for all schools to administer and then report results back to NYSED. We plan to administer the survey in two different ways: PYE Students (Please click the title to view the form) PYMS/PYA Students will complete the survey during their school periods.

I'm sure that over the last few days you have seen a flurry of new information and guidelines coming from the Governor and State Department of Health. The timing of this guidance is not ideal but we will continue to modify our plans for reopening and deal with the new mandates. (Click Title to Continue)

EXTRA DISTRIBUTION DAY: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH 8AM-7PM

We wrap up our introduction to the Middle School with a tour of building, hosted by 2 former Middle School students. We hope this makes it a bit easier to navigate on your first few days.

Familiarize yourself with staff members you might not see on a daily basis, but have a variety of responsibilities that you will interact with frequently.
